Principal's Message

Principal's Message

I consider it a privilege to serve the community I grew up in as Principal of Clifton.  The 2019-20 school year will be my ninth year serving in this position and I could not be more proud of the work we have accomplished in the past eight years.  We have an amazing team of dedicated and committed professionals to prepare your child for high school and all of the opportunities that may follow.  Our continued focus will include an emphasis on a robust academic program with an emphasis on student collaboration, digital citizenship, service, and student advocacy.  Behavior expectations will be taught and rewarded as part of this process using our Cub Cash token economy.  In addition, a school-wide approach to writing critically with evidence is a component of every core department, called C.U.B writing.  Finally, we are committed to providing your child a wealth of opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom to help them find their niche and increase their connectivity to school through leadership, athletics, and performing arts.

The success of every child involves the partnership between the school community and families.  My hope is for all parents to partner in their child’s school experience and to get involved.  Monitoring activities through social networking activities such as Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and other means of online communication is more crucial than ever.  Understanding the implications of your child’s digital footprint is critical for opportunities that lie ahead in college and the work force.
I look forward to meeting you and having an exciting 2019-2020 school year.  Please know my door is always open to you and I highly encourage you to build relationships with our Clifton team to strengthen the home to school partnership.
