AVID, Advancement Via Individual Determination, is a year long elective class in grades 7-12. AVID is an international program that has been around for more than 35 years. Mrs. DuRose and Mr. McQuaid are excited to work with our AVID students as they prepare for their future. AVID teaches students skills and behaviors needed for academic success. AVID students are taught success strategies and are supported through weekly tutorials that are facilitated by college students. AVID students are also introduced to many career fields through guest speakers. The 2016-2017 students attended a college football game at the Rose Bowl and took guided tours of Cal State Fullerton and Cal Poly Pomona. They had speakers each month who spoke about their career journey. Most of the Clifton teaching staff have attended either summer institutes or LA County institutes which benefit all of our students.
