This information is for the week of June 5th.
This is our final week of the school year and what a year it has been! We sadly have to say
goodbye to some employees and we want you aware:
Mr. Ferguson (woodshop) and Mrs. Bautista (attendance office) are retiring. Mrs. Woodrick
(English) is moving to Idaho, Ms. Bangara (English) has accepted a new position in another
District and Mrs. Mullvain (graphic design and yearbook) is transferring to the Monrovia Adult
School. We wish them all well in the future and thank them for their tireless work and dedication to Clifton.
Promotion practice for 8th graders occurred today and will happen again tomorrow. Girls are
encouraged to bring their dress shoes to practice walking in them for the practice.
About 75 or our 6th and 7th graders were honored today by Renaissance Leadership and our staff at a very special Most Valuable Cub BBQ at lunchtime. Congratulations to the award recipients on this recognition.
Promotion will take place Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. All 8 th graders must report to the cafeteria on time at 8:00 a.m. that day and all 6 th and 7 th graders report to class. Gates on Ivy and Canyon open at 8:20 a.m. and only ticketed guests will be allowed entry. Each 8 th grader will receive only 4 tickets and there are no more tickets available due to seating constraints. No balloons are allowed through the gates and families will be asked to leave the same gates of entry about 15 minutes after the ceremony concludes.
Thursday is our 8th grade trip to Magic Mountain. Permission slips were due last week and
students need to report to the auditorium at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday morning with $40 cash to
take part in the trip.
Final exams will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, and Thursday and school dismisses each
day at 12:30 p.m.
Summer school invitations have been mailed home to all grade levels, 6 th and 7 th grade are invited to attend summer school here at Clifton or possibly Camp Infinity at Santa Fe. 8 th graders are invited to attend credit based classes at MHS. If you have questions about summer school please contact our counselor Ms. Jones at 471-2685. Summer school dates are June 15th through July 14th with July 3rd and 4th being a holiday.

Finally, registration packets will be sent home in about a month. 2017-18 registration will take
place on Thursday, August 10th . Detail will be in your registration packet. Our first day of school will be Wednesday, August 16th . 6th graders will report to school at 8:00 a.m. in the auditorium that day and 7th and 8th graders will report to school at 9:55 a.m. in the auditorium.
